Hollywood Stars Jump to the Stage

It was anounced late last week that three film and television stars would make their Broadway debuts within the next year. Tom Hanks is in talks to star in the play Lucky Guy, which is about Daily News columnist Mike McAlary and it is written by Nora Ephron. Zooey Deschanel is also in talks to star as Loretta Lynn in Coal Miner's Daughter, an autobiographical musical about the country star Lynn. Downton Abbey fans will also get their fill from across the pond, as Dan Stevens is slated to star in the revival of The Heiress.

    I love it when movie/TV stars go on Broadway (if they are talented, that is). I think it helps fans to see them in a different light and it gives them a chance to do something different. Also, I wonder, if Zooey Deschanel stars on Broadway, does that mean that New Girl will be cancelled? It's just a thought; I can't see how an actress can do both at the same time.
